Well lookie here.

My husband's one and only goal for his vacation this week was to find a replacement boat trailer.  After having been shown some pretty busted up pieces of crub, one requiring a full weld to a middle support and one place having acknowledged that they under quoted him $400-500. for a new trailer price over the phone (and only telling him that after driving a half hour out), he found a lovely place that's a jog down the road and now is a lovely owner of a new boat trailer.

Hallelujah!
If you look in the side mirror, you'll see the big ole smile on his face.  Either that or he was laughing at my Japanese tourist tendencies with the camera.

We worked together to raise the boat back up off the lawn and onto the trailer.  She's only a 14' aluminum row boat, but I was a little concerned there for a minute.  We got it pulled up and locked in place, then my husband decided that he needed to give her a bath.  Grant you, it was about 25 F out and he reports that the sponge was freezing to the boat, but it's all shiny, up on wheels and again covered with a huge tarp.  He's not a man who requires big and wonderfully overdone things.  He tells people that this is his one and only boat.  It's low maintenance.  If the motor runs out of juice, we can easily paddle back to shore.  It fits in the backyard.  I can drop it in and pull it back out.  She's a good little boat she is.
And yes, she is sea worthy.

Hooray!

For those of you that don't know of the boat trailer story, feel free to go here.  I know that I had two more days of posts on the boat trailer heist right after that.  Oh, and to confirm to everyone including the spooty thieves who drove off with our 1976 trailer, we now have locks.  Never had to have them before.  Hubs bought the boat and trailer when he was 16.  He had it for 22 years at that point.

Congrats on the new trailer! I bet he's super excited. Hoping those nasty thieves steer clear of this one!
