Nothing has changed. I only had a slight reaction to the venom-under-the-skin test. No RAST, as Dr. A- figures that the results are going to be the same. Basically, live with an Epi at my side, make sure that it doesn't go south, let him know to call in refills and come back to see him if I get stung again. A plus is that K- stood there and watched it and was rather impressed with the process.
I have a dotted arm and absolutely no more answers. I think that sometimes, it just kind of rolls that way. In the meantime, I refuse to discontinue gardening or being outside where there are bees. I'm not stung that often, so I'm hoping that it will continue to be a rarity and that perhaps, the reaction was just a fluke. Somehow, neither I nor Dr. A- think that with the family history I have. :crinkly nose:
If all I have to do is to carry an Epi Pen just in case, it seems like a simple solution to me.
Smiles in my day:
- I haven't done these in a while and it's not that I haven't had anything to be joyously happy about.
- My cousin called this morning and insisted that she aid us in putting K-'s Webkinz online. Of course, the only code we don't possess is for the one that she bought K-. (ARGH!) At any rate, K- is all thrilled having been introduced to the land of Webkinz. Her time is bought by reading (interchangeable now with TV time credits.) It took a bit of time (an hour and a half!) to get the land set up and to acquaint us with the inner workings. It is something fun for her to do.
- The green beans and some of the corn are up!
- Keeping the sale peacock eye out for Rachael. We've been texting back and forth about the lovely peacock that she found at Target some time ago. P has now gone on clearance, but is not in Rachael's area. We'll see how low she goes here and we just may have to have the peacock fly by USPS. We're watching.
Must go cook dinner! Have a lovely day!

The ADD post: It gives a girl like me big hair.
The heat and the humidity. I'll translate that to all of you who may have poker straight hairs. Mine is not. Mine never is, but the humidity makes it grow. And grow. And grow. It makes me even happier that I went to see Tara, the Goddess of Shearing Big Hair, last week. It is only with her intervention that I'm no longer looking like Bozo the Clown.
The heat? Yes, I know that if you are in the southwest, it's 100+, but I'm thinking that is dry heat. I know that in the east, the humidity is worse so, y'all clearly win. Still, when I'm considering whether or not to soil clean laundry on the line with wiping the sweat from my brow, you know that it is stinking hot up here.
My nasturtium have come up, though. That's good news.
I have my sheets in the wash. I'm sure that it will probably take me longer to hang them on the line than it will to actually dry them. That's not so bad. I sleep delightfully well on newly line-dried sheets. They have a stiffness about them and a sniff of ozone just for fun. Zzzz.
Ah, yes. My post title neglected my trip to the allergist tomorrow. I will be going through another round of bee allergy testing. Frankly, I'm hoping that they will run the environmentals the rest of the way. I sort of ran out of testable arm space the last time. I don't know if I have to redo the RAST or not. I'll be taking K- with me. I figure that it won't hurt her and it certainly isn't something bad for her to see. She'll probably find it rather interesting. No matter how it comes out, Dr. A- wants me to tote an Epi Pen for the rest of forever. It's easy enough. No problem there.
The asters are starting to bloom! The purple nicotiana I grew from seed are now blooming! The bee balm is incredible! Sadly, I'm not sharing these things with you yet because my computer, the dinosaur it is, is struggling to keep up. She needs a good, deep cleansing. I need her to be all Zen like (maybe, but it sounds good) so that she may function properly. This computer is the giant beast that a thief would leave behind because it is so ancient. Still, we must breathe new life into her. More on a CPR level. Once she's been fully resuscitated, I'll get back with the photos. Trust me, I took them.
I told you it was an ADD post.
I need to go clean my bathroom now.
I've at least figured out that we'll be having either chicken salad or tuna salad for dinner. We have chips and fruit. Voila. It's library night. K- and I will be off for entertainment as Hubs comes home and collapses from heat exhaustion. (He had one day camp participant faint yesterday from the heat.)
I have things to tend to and since the palace does not self maintain, I must get off of my scatteredness of just sitting and do.
Have a great day!

Hooray for guarantees!
An ataboy to (Price) Pfister for their willingness to replace our 10 year old bathroom faucet. When we did a redo on our bathroom 10+ years ago (probably 11 at this point) and we paid $100.00 for the faucet. We bought the faucet because it was a good name brand, it was an easier fixture for my mother-in-law to use (she has RA) and it had a lifetime warranty. (Price) Pfister had Hubs take a photo of our current faucet and they said that they'd get a new one out straight away.
What great customer service! It'll be a wonderful thing not to have a faucet that leaks like no tomorrow and is currently rigged with a water bottle and a glass as a temporary fix. :S

A Father's Day trip to the Man Mall
Today, we took Hubs for his traditional trip to Bass Pro Shop in Rossford. They have activities for the kids to do, which allows us to stay there all day. I do admit that some of the "camps" that we attended with K (a short class) were good, but a few were just mind numbingly boring. No matter. K is a carrot kid. What do I mean by that? K enjoys earning the pins that they offer. She was determined to hang out and earn as many as she could. We had a nice day together and that is what matters. K made Hubs a duct tape wallet and she made sure that he was carrying it, too! He can't help but to feel her love everytime he pulls out his yellow, blue and green wallet that says, "I LOVE U" in large block letters. It's a gift that only a dad could love. :)

Happy 1000! Like, can you believe it? Like, I can't either!
Considering the fact that this is officially my 1000th post, I reconsidered my post subject, but opted to continue on with it.
I do not claim to practice the fine art of speaking or writing English in any perfect way. I do try, though. A text conversation that Rachael and I were having yesterday has brought us both to a possible frightening realization - we think that Valley Girl speak has returned.
Yesterday, there were a few times when I was assaulted with the overuse of "like." One young lady managed to sandwich it between very few words three separate times. On a different occasion, girls who were excessively giggly and appeared to have not left their high school days despite checking their ID's with credit card purchase and noticing that they were 28 and 30, bantered overuse of "like" back and forth like a volleyball in a game. It was so bad that I had to seriously hold myself back from saying, "Um, like, your total is like $12.51." :insert bobble of head here: I don't know that they would have been disturbed by my useage.
That is what frightens me.
K's 2nd grade teacher may have been a stickler for spelling in a way that somewhat drove me crazy, but she did harp on one thing that I absolutely agreed with. She taught them to use, "More colorful language." The word "cute" to describe something didn't cut it with her.
I think that is fabulous.
I've gotten on K a bit more in regard to her writing. I have continued keeping up with correcting misspellings and certainly will make certain that she doesn't fall into the land of "like." It makes an otherwise intelligent human sound beyond unschooled.
Have you noticed any language weirdness? Don't worry, if you've seen it here, feel free to call me on it.
Reflections on a day of 1000ness:
I have prattled on about happy things, sadness, need for prayer, incidents of my daughter's reflux (eww!), and generally journaled about all sorts of miscellaneous bits of life and yet, y'all continue to come back. Thanks for that!

The dad vs. the mom.
Grocery run with the mom for ice cream nets just 1 half gallon of an agreed upon flavor.
Grocery run with the dad includes 2 ice cream half gallons (one for mom and one for K), a pack of sugar cones, a 20 bag variety of baked chips and a bunch of bananas.
Something tells me that K got a better deal with dad at the wallet.

She partied like it was 1999.
K had gone to my niece's slumber party yesterday. There was pizza making, cupcake making, swimming, firefly catching, another late night dip in the pool (to rid the kids of bug spray before bed), Smurf punch (yes, it was blue), finally falling asleep at 1:30 AM (her latest ever), and back up at 8 AM to greet my sister with, "Aunt Annie, may I go swimming?" Aunt Annie said that she would be needing coffee first. Kiddo swam all day today and continued to party on.
Girlfriend came into our house at 6 PM and collapsed in an exhausted heap on her floor. It is now 10:06 PM and she is still asleep. She still has her bathing suit on. I figure that she can get a bath in the morning.
K partied it down and had a great time. Happy party exhaustion is not a bad thing. :)
ETA: I did get her up at 11 PM to peel her bathing suit off, have her use the restroom, and to get her into bed. She woke up this morning at 7:30. Now that was one exhausted kid!
